下石（おろし）は昔から　とっくりの生産が盛んな　窯焼きの町

町の人たちの楽しみは　自分が作ったとっくりで　お酒を呑むこと

ある日のこと

町の人たちがいつものように酒盛りをしている様子を　たぬきのポン太が眺めていました

「楽しそうだなぁ　ぼくも仲間に入りたいなぁ」

けれど　照れ屋で口下手なポン太は　なかなか声をかけることができません

Oroshi has long been a kiln-fired town with a thriving production of tokkuri.

People's pleasure is to drink sake from the tokkuri they made.

One day

The raccoon dog Ponta was watching the people having a drinking party.

"Looks like fun. I want to join.

そこでポン太は　ひらめきました

「ポン」と　腹鼓を打ったと思えば　そこにはかわいいとっくりが

うまく酒盛りの輪の中に入り込むことができました

 とっくりポン太は　下石の人たちの笑い声に囲まれて　酔い気分

お酒を注がれ　あっちへ　こっちへ

とっくりが回るたび　ポン太の酔いも回ります

Then Ponta had an epiphany.

Ponta, who has become a tokkuri, Feeling drunk with the laughter of the people of Oroshi.

Every time the tokkuri is used, Ponta also gets drunk

下石の人たちが歌って踊れば　自然と心も体も弾んでいき・・・・

 思わず「ポン！」

ポン太はうっかり　腹鼓を鳴らしてしまいました

すると　とっくりから　尻尾が生えてしまったのです

When the people of Oroshi sing and dance, the heart naturally bounces…

 "Pon!"

Ponta accidentally hit his stomach and made a sound. 

Then, a tail grew out of the tokkuri.

  「しまった　正体がばれてしまう！」

ポン太が慌てて逃げ出そうとすると　下石の人たちが言いました

 「なんだ　おまえもたぬきだったのか！」

ポン太が拍子抜けしていると　目の前の人たちが次々と　腹鼓を打ちます

「ポン！」

「ポンポン！」

なんと　酒盛りをしていた人たちもまた　たぬきだったのです

"Oh my God, my true identity will be exposed!"

"What, you were a raccoon dog too!"

When Ponta is surprised, the people hit his stomach.

 "Pon!"

 "Pon Pon!"

The people having the drinking party were all raccoon dogs themselves. who were having a drinking party.

「ポン！」

「ポンポン！」

下石の星空に　たぬきの腹鼓が鳴り響いていました

夜があけて朝になると　下石の町にはいつもと変わらず　とっくり作りに打ち込む人々の姿がありました

 "Pon!" 

 "Pon Pon!" 

In the starry sky of Oroshi, the sound of a raccoon dog beating its stomach resounded.

When the night came to an end, the town of Oroshi was filled with people devoting themselves to making tokkuri as usual.

Of course, Ponta also worked hard to make the tokkuri together.
